We have an excellent opportunity for a Team Lead in our Mountaintop, PA facility, 1st shift
Summary:
The Team Lead is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in managing the daily manufacturing activities in a manner that promotes Cornell/Cookson's objectives including directing all department associates on their shift.
Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
Mentor and coach new associates, ensuring they are receiving appropriate training and development
Partner with trainers to improve the overall training experience of all associates
Encourage and support cross training throughout the facility
Assist associates with questions or concerns that arise during the shift.
Demonstrate understanding and compliance with our Front Line Management System ( FLMS)
Create and promote a team atmosphere with the department
Utilizing input and direction from the Production Supervisor provide guidance to associates with respect to manufacturing needs
Provide regular updates to Production Supervisor on productivity, safety and quality performance
Actively participate in recommending, supporting, implementing and ensuring that safety is paramount to the department’s performance by holding associates accountable to Standard Operating Procedures and Job Safety Analysis
Ensure all associates adhere to company policies, health, and safety and employment standards
Attend shift meetings to stay informed on departmental needs, staffing levels and production requirements
Conduct daily team meetings to convey information to associates regarding performance expectation.
Monitor the set-up of materials, equipment and staff resources to assure production needs are met.
Participate in professional development opportunities when available
Promote and encourage continuous improvement opportunities and the principles of lean manufacturing
Take an active role in scrap reduction efforts
Ensure that all shift production reporting is completed timely
Hold associates accountable for maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Monitor that quality checks are being completed as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
Minimum of 1 - 3 years Manufacturing Experience
High School Diploma or G.

D.
