Job Description
Loss Prevention is responsible for maintaining security and loss prevention procedures for Gerrity's Supermarkets.
The Loss Prevention Technician is also responsible for performing duties as directed by Management for the successful operation and control of Loss Prevention.
It is essential that, you present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities.
Job duties include:
Identifying potential thieves or vandals among staff or patrons
Responsible for the installation and overall maintenance of security systems
Monitoring surveillance cameras for any Loss Prevention Issues
Monitor suspected shoplifters
Documenting theft and other security violations
Working with law enforcement to arrest and prosecute suspected shoplifters and dishonest employees
The Loss Prevention Associate is expected to refrain from engaging in any activity, practice or conduct which conflicts with, or appears to conflict with, the interests of Gerrity’s Supermarkets, its customers and its vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain procedures that will ensure the proper physical security of all Gerrity’s locations
Enforce policies and procedures to help maintain and minimize issues relating to safety, liability, internal and external theft, shrink and property damage
Conduct audits and observations to ensure that proper procedures are being followed throughout all operations in the stores, including, but not limited to the back rooms, sales floors, front office and registers (This also includes cash handling, reporting of deposits, balancing, cash pick ups, and cashier audits)
Conduct surveillance and confidential investigations to assure that shrinkage due to theft, both internally and externally is minimized (This includes customer, vendor, and employee theft)
Serve as resource for security training for store personnel
Maintain and enforce full compliance of all safety policies/procedures
Perform other related duties as directed by the appropriate management staff
Comply with fully submitting all reports, schedules and all requested paperwork to the Corporate Office in an appropriate and mandated time

Will be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
Comply fully with and enforce all safety policies and procedures
Adhere to Customer Service Pledge at all times
Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while working and strictly adhere to the Dress Code policy
Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department

QUALIFICATIONS
Able to work weekends
Fluent English-speaking and writing skills
Background in Information Technology preferred but not required
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and taste or smell
Able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs
Exhibit a sense of urgency
Must be at least 18 years old
