Wilkes University invites applicants for a Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) Manager in the department of Campus Support Services.
This is a supervisory position reporting directly to the Associate Director of Campus Support Services.
The MEP Manager will be responsible for the management of maintenance and building budgets for a complex campus with approximately 60 buildings, as well as the University's substantial capital assets.
The successful candidate is responsible for developing, maintaining, managing, and overseeing all aspects of mechanical/preventative maintenance and repairs across all campus facilities including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; electrical; plumbing; carpentry; concrete and masonry; welding; plumbing; and/or painting.
The Manager will provide direct supervision and assistance as needed to a team of technicians, including training and developing the team members to ensure safe, quality and timely responses to repair and maintenance requests.
They will support the Associate Director and other Managers within the department and work with the Executive Director to ensure capital asset management strategies align with the mission of the University.
The Manager ensures that all capital assets are identified and entered into the capital asset database and will manage the university's work order system including assigning, coordinating and processing work orders.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years' trades applied knowledge including service work.
Management or supervisory experience, specialized training (including on the job training) in mechanical and preventative maintenance programs are strongly preferred.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills; including the ability to use basic windows-based computer programs; specifically: Microsoft Office, BAS, & CMMS programs; ability to work with members of a diverse community; excellent customer service skills.
