Position: Packaging Operator
Department: Thermoforming, Injection Molding, Decoration, or Direct Print
Shift: Night Shift (5:50pm- 6am; 12-hour shifts)
Greiner Packaging is seeking Packers to join our team in Pittston TWP, Pennsylvania.
This position is essential to maintaining smooth production operations at our manufacturing plant.
This position provides technical capability within the specific department, with regards process optimization, product specifications and technical decision making.
The decorations department is responsible for the production of the end product, from plain to decorated product with cardboard wrapping.
You will load and changeover machinery, and keep machines running smoothly; communicating any problems that arise to supervisors in a timely manner.
Main Responsibilities
•Work with high-speed machines daily
Unload undecorated cups onto jacobs ladder
Machine cleaning Daily/Weekly/PM
Assist technician and supervisor with product line clearances
Make boxes, insert plastic bags into boxes
Pack boxes with finished product
Place packed boxes on pallets
Use hand trucks to move pallets
Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
on continuous basis (Weight of boxes will depend on assigned technology)
Quality-Attention to detail is critical for these positions
Perform quality checks on finished/unfinished products before packaging
Keep work area neat and clean to ensure product does not become contaminated
Know all safety rules, regulations and company policies
Perform other duties assigned
Responsible for Food Safety within scope of work, including adherence to site Hygiene Code of Practice and SQF / FDA regulatory requirements, and reporting of food safety concerns / improvement suggestions

Required Skills
Previous experience in a high speed/fast paced Manufacturing environment preferred but not required
Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

Regularly push or pull a pallet
Regularly required to stand for long periods
Work near moving mechanical parts
Requires hand washing multiple times throughout a shift, including exposure to cleaning agents that may be harsh to the skin.
