Responsibilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Packer/Handler consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Exemplifies the Berry Behaviors and Values at all times.
Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Berry inside and outside of the plant.
Work in a professional manner with other associates.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
Inspect product to insure quality; set aside product that is below quality standards.
Work closely with Leads and alert the Team Leader or Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions.
Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.
Notify the Team Leader of any safety, machinery, raw material, quality, preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, packaging or documentation concerns.
Document information correctly on the reports for production and any downtime.
Follow proper packaging procedures for handles to ensure damage does not occur through shipping.
Responsible for proper labeling of handles being packaged for shipment.
Understands Grip quality and any related troubleshooting.
Informed as to what production is expected of a handle machine to ensure production goals are met.
Makes basic machine adjustments to maintain a quality handle.
Various other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL, SKILL, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in wire forming a plus, but not required.
Previous experience in a fast-paced, production environment is highly preferred.
Regularly required to stand or sit for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
Good hand-eye coordination is required.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
Must be able to keep-up with the fast-paced production cycles.
Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail.
Able to tolerate constant repetition.
Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holiday and over-time.
Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
Good communication skills-verbal and written; ability to effectively communicate.
Ability to work well independently or in a team environment; displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
