Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Maintenance Dept Intern to join our Wilkes-Barre, PA Team.

We are looking for a motivated and creative student intern to help support our mission.
Purpose: Our Maintenance Intern will have the opportunity to experience and learn the industry specific equipement maintenance related duties, gain technical knowledge, and participate in training.
Additionally, Intern may develop basic skills in Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement and various areas such as plumbing, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and metal working.
Major Position Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance tasks, which include daily inspection of production facility equipment and repair diagnosis under the watch of a maintenance technician.
Assess and document maintenance procedures on production equipment Assist the Maintenance team on continuous improvement projects within the facility Learn and further improve key safety programs to include Hazardous Energy Control/Lock-out -Tag out procedures, work permits (e.
g.
,hot work and confined space) and general personal safety requirements necessary for a career in industrial maintenance.
Perform duties and projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: Required Education: Sophomore or Junior in accredited college or attendance at technical college Discipline/Major: Pursuing mechanical or manufacturing engineering or technical trades related degree Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to work 20-40 hours per week.
Mechanical problem solving skills, mechanical or industrial related coursework, and ability to read and write in English (bilingual in Spanish preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint applications along with capacity to learn other maintenance tracking IT systems/databases.
