GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The general purpose of this job is to collaborate with the Botanical Design Department in creating and supporting the Lodge at Woodloch’s flora, fauna, ornamental containers and gardens, and seasonal installation operations highlighting the beauty and visual aesthetic throughout The Lodge at Woodloch property while inspiring and enhancing the guest experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assist with regular watering + maintenance of indoor tropical foliage Assist with regular watering + maintenance of outdoor ornamental decorative pots + gardens Assist with the identification and of treatment potential pest problems on all flora + fauna Assist with planting, transplanting, weeding, mulching, deadheading, seed starting, potting, pruning, propagating, composting, cultivating, fertilizing, washing, sanitizing, sourcing, organizing, transporting, staging, regular maintenance and all other daily + seasonal gardening operations Assist with fresh floral processing, foraging, cutting, trimming, packing/unpacking, organizing, transporting, compiling, cleaning, sanitizing, composting, color correcting through floral spray painting, treating, soaking, installing, packaging + presenting, Tree Restaurant table floral styling, regular maintenance and all other daily + seasonal décor operations Assist with seasonal + holiday production, fabrication, organization, and execution with Botanical Design team Collaborate with creative and compelling project planning processes through sharing of inspiration and visual concepts for flora, fauna + seasonal installations under the direction of design leadership Willing to discuss flora + fauna topics with inquiring guests Willing to discover, learn + inspire to enhance the guest experience Willing to occasionally travel for sourcing fresh + hard goods Comfortable working with outdoor wildlife and nature Comfortable working with varying four-season weather conditions Comfortable working with soil, compost, amendments, garden supplies + tools Comfortable climbing ladders + scaffolding for seasonal installations Comfortable operating UTV and vehicles for botanical operations Any additional assistance as required by design leadership to enhance the guest experience ESSENTIAL QUALITIES Outgoing + High Energy Collaborative, Productive + Attentive Sense of Honesty + Integrity Exhibits an understanding and interest in garden + design SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work all shifts and have flexible schedule, including availability for 24-hour change of holiday installations QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: This position requires a valid driver’s license to perform the essential functions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concreate variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
The Botanical assistant may be required to stand for long hours, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
It is also required that the employee be able to lift, turn, or exert force of more than 30 pounds.
