Responsibilities:
Serve as primary contact to law firms and communicate new policies, claims handling instructions and staffing changes
Monitor defense counsel assignments
Obtain panel counsel in new states the company is entering
Run monthly and quarterly reports to track claim volume, closures, case lengths and billed amounts
Assist in preparing reports and meeting packets for bi-monthly litigation meetings
Maintain suit log for property and liability claims
Monitor Advanced Payment Review center
Ensure in-house quarterly billing is submitted and paid timely
Serve as liaison between internal billing department and TPA billing department
Maintain and update background files within proprietary software
Schedule telephone conferences and training sessions with outside counsel
Update policy and procedure manual to reflect procedural changes within the department
Assist in the examination and evaluation of audited legal bills
Provide litigation support to in-house counsel
Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving and researching skills
Attention to detail
Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Legal and insurance experience a plus
