Description: Job description Delivery Driver Join a Legacy of Excellence at Interstate Window and Door Company: We are a third-generation family business that, as a premier window manufacturer, have achieved national recognition - right here from our Pittston, PA plant! Our products not only contribute positively to the environment but also offer significant lifetime savings for our customers by effectively reducing their escalating energy expenses.
Renowned for their exceptional energy efficiency, our windows rank among the top-tier in the industry.
The expertise of our team and our meticulous process enable us to achieve performance metrics that place us in the elite 3%-4% bracket among window manufacturers nationwide.
We're currently seeking a reliable and safety-oriented Delivery Driver to join our team.
The right candidate will learn to care as much about this product as we do.
About the Role Our drivers currently deliver our award-winning products as far north as Maine, as far south as Georgia and as far west as Ohio.
Candidates should anticipate being away from home for 2-5 days weekly (M-F), ensuring the smooth delivery of our products.
We respect our drivers: enjoy a fair per diem for meals and accommodations on runs that take longer than 1 day to complete.
In this role, you will not have to ask to be appreciated! We alternate routes so you don't have to worry about the same stretch of highway, day in, and day out.
The typical schedule is 45-55 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Our delivery schedules reflect the business hours of our valued customers.
We do not sell to the public, so stops are primarily window dealers, vendors and wholesalers.
This customer-centric role demands a motivated individual who excels without constant supervision.
Our drivers become "the face of Interstate" and must uphold a high standard of customer service, addressing inquiries, and maintaining positive interactions with clients during delivery stops.
This is not a no touch freight position, rather a physical job.
Our drivers are directly involved in helping our customers and our customer's staff unload product.
Whether the driver is getting the product to the back of the truck or unloading the product, involvement in the unloading process is dependent on the level of staff at a particular delivery stop.
Warehouse duties are a part of the job when delivery runs are not scheduled for all four drivers.
Responsibilities: Execute timely and safe delivery runs spanning 1-4 days, ensuring product integrity and adherence to all safety protocols.
Experience diverse routes, engaging in 2-4 day trips weekly, ensuring a dynamic work experience.
Follow all DOT regulations as well as all local, state and federal driving laws.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections as well as accurately working off of an electronic log.
Uphold a high standard of customer service, addressing inquiries, and maintaining positive interactions with clients during delivery stops.
Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly, ensuring seamless delivery records and compliance with company procedures.
Maintain financial records of transactions whenever company card is used according to company policy.
Safely load, unload, and handle products, ensuring their secure transfer at delivery sites.
Execute dock deliveries efficiently and effectively, utilizing expertise in 'bumping docks' to manage the unloading process at various locations.
Rotate delivery runs weekly among our four drivers to maintain variety and prevent monotony.
Requirements: 1-2 years' experience driving a 26' Box Truck or comparable vehicle within the last 2 years (verifiable).
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Willingness to work in the warehouse on days without sufficient delivery runs, sharing duties equally among drivers.
Ability to handle and secure windows carefully and effectively.
Team player mindset with experience in consistent dock deliveries.
1 year of driving experience in various weather conditions (rain, snow, fog).
Proficiency in completing paperwork accurately and on time, and operating a tablet.
Clean driving record verification and ability to lift 75 lbs.
Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment alcohol and drug screening as well as a DOT physical.
