Description:
Filling Machine Operators are responsible for following,
Maintaining Personal GMP’s, Filler’s Sanitary conditions and good housekeeping in the Processing and filling area.
Ensuring management of allergens is followed, where applicable, such as uniform policy, use of colour coded sanitation tools.
Operating the filling machines as per instructions given during training.
Performing Filler’s Cleaning In Place (CIP) and general cleanings of the filling machine and surrounding area as per required frequency.
Ensuring and coordinating feeding of empty cartons & fitments prior to the filling & documenting the lot #’s of the Cartons & Fitments.
Periodically checking filled cartons for Product Weights, fitment and Gable Top seal quality and documenting the information.
Performing Carton Teardowns and dye checks to assess the Carton’s Forming & Sealing integrity.
Perform assigned cleaning tasks during startup, shut down and product changeover.
Recording all relevant data pertaining to filling & downtime operations.
Ensuring Filler Machine is stopped prior to performing any corrective action re Carton or
Fitment Jams on Mandrels or inside Fill Housing
Maintaining safety at workplace- wearing PPE wherever required.
Managing Spill control- first respondent, Lead and direct team members dispensing all line wastes at correct waste stream.
Spill control is a way to control the potential for cross contamination of allergens.
Performing any other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor.
Filling Machine Operators have the following Authority:
Authorized to stop Filler Production immediately and report to the Production Supervisor any Filler Machine operational, Quality or Food Safety issue that may have an impact on the Finished Products.
Requirements:
Education & Experience Requirements
3-5 Yrs within the Food & Beverage Industry
High School Education or equivalency
Previous experience operating production equipment such as a filler preferable
Knowledge of Production and Sanitation SOP’s, GMP’s, Food Handling Hygiene
Able to complete documents in a legible fashion
